We monetise Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC), Letters of Credit (LC) and Documentary Letters of Credit (DLC) into deployable working capital. Our banking relationships across Europe and the Middle East allow us to structure non-recourse facilities that unlock the full face value of qualifying instruments with institutional-grade counterparty certainty. Foundation Capital Partners operates as a principal in these transactions, ensuring speed of execution and a single point of accountability throughout the monetisation process. Our team has structured and closed instrument monetisation facilities across multiple jurisdictions, with a track record spanning sovereign-backed instruments, prime bank guarantees and commercial LCs issued by Tier-1 institutions globally.
How We Structure Monetisation
Each monetisation mandate begins with instrument verification through our banking partners. Once confirmed, we deploy a non-recourse facility against the instrument's face value, providing the instrument holder with immediate liquidity without requiring asset sale or recourse to the principal's balance sheet. The structure is designed to comply with SWIFT protocols and international trade finance standards.
Qualifying Instruments
We accept SBLCs, LCs and DLCs issued by Tier-1 rated banks with a minimum face value of USD 10M. Instruments must be verifiable via SWIFT, free and clear of encumbrances, and issued by a bank acceptable to our funding partners. Foundation conducts KYC and compliance review on all instrument holders prior to engagement.
Typical Transaction Timeline
From receipt of a complete instrument package, our standard process runs 10–15 banking days to initial tranche drawdown. Complex instruments or those requiring enhanced due diligence may extend this timeline. We provide a clear milestone schedule at mandate execution so principals can plan accordingly.
